The inaugural exhibition presented by the new Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography, 85_15 takes as its starting point the year 1930 when ArtCenter was founded, and the opening also launched in tandem The Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography. The exhibit was a collaborative design project from conception to execution. The premise for the exhibit itself was to be interactive and became a personal customizable catalog. A timeline separated by decades allowed visitors to compile sheets of paper from the wall to make their own custom catalog based on what resonated for them. Typefaces represented a decade in ways such as movie posters & advertisements, and were then paired with relevant historical photography.
